Dabke (2015) for Concert Band Grade 3

Dabke is titled after a traditional folk dance popular in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Turkey. This dance is usually performed at joyous occasions, such as weddings and uses a guitar-like instrument called the Oud. The themes in Dabke are directly inspired by traditional dabke songs and melodies. While Dabke doesn't feature the Oud or guitar, it captures the essence of the melodic and harmonic language of traditional dabke dances.
