Elux Lucis (2015) for string orchestra Grade 3
Elux Lucis is about the northern lights and how they shift and pulse in the night sky. The work sets up an icy environment through minor tonality and harmonics in the violins. I intentionally included shifting for every instrument to help ensembles practice that concept.
Elux Lucis was written for the sinfonietta orchestra at Fort Collins High School.
