Last weekend my arrangement of Ode to Joy was played by 150+ people! Performers included everyone from beginning grade .5 to advanced collegiate wind orchestra members. The performance was successful and employed the organ in Gammage Auditorium! Score and parts need a few revisions, but look for the final arrangement on leadingtonesmusic.com in a couple of months.
A couple new pieces, The Scavengers and On the Edge now have recordings on their webpages. Check back later for a peak at the score and the opportunity to purchase!
My new work for Handbells, Esther Morris Fanfare, will be premiered this weekend at the Area 11 festival/conference in Cheyenne, Wyoming! The concert starts at 1:20 on Saturday at the Little America Hotel in the Wyoming Ballroom and also features other amazing handbell performers from across the country. Hope to see you there!
A big congratulations to the 2016 MSOE performance! They did an awesome job premiering five new pieces, including my work, Fifty-Four Miles, which will soon be available on this website.
Also, Elux Lucis had a performance by the Centennial Middle School Orchestra II for their final concert. I was able to make the performance at Boulder High School and they did a great job! Dabke gets another performance at the 2016 Cherry Creek Schools Honor Band concert. Thank you to Dr. Johnson for programming the work for the middle school honor band and thank you to the wonderful band directors who helped make Dabke a success!
My new double bass quartet, Color Swatches, premiered at the 2015 International Society of Bassists conference at Colorado State University! The concert took place on Thursday, June 4th 2015, at 3:00 in Runyan Hall at the University Center for the Arts.
Rapid Runoff Sketch wins 3rd place at the 2nd annual Colorado State University Student Composition Competition on May 7th. Congratulations to Kevin Olson for winning 2nd place and Ben Justice for winning 1st place at this event!
